Now, in true to The Bachelor form, by choosing past rejects to become the next season's star, 25-year-old Emily Maynard has been asked by ABC to become the next The Bachelorette.

"We're no longer engaged," Emily told People magazine while holding back some fake tears...

According to reports, Emily Maynard returned the engagement ring Brad Womack gave her when he proposed in the season finale back in November.
A show insider says, “It’s completely over now.”
Obligatory proposal? Check. Appearance on Ellen? Check. Face above the word “Heartbreak” on magazine cover? Yup, it’s all covered, and you can now both update your IMDB pages.

On last night’s finale, Brad Womack chose contestant Emily Maynard to be his new fiancé, proposing to her by saying, “I’m asking you to give me your forever.”
And by "your forever", I guess he meant until the next commercial break.
Because moments later, it was reported that the couple had broken up because of Emily’s insecurity. She admitted she had trouble seeing the man she loved with so many different women each week.
A show producer told Popeater, “Emily is not able to forgive Brad for what she considers cheating week-after-week with other girls."
What did she think the other women were there for, set décor?

Brad proposed with a Neil Lane diamond engagement ring while runner up Chantal O'Brien was left in tears.
"You're the one, Em. You're my once in a lifetime. Please let me be your once in a lifetime. Please let me be your best friend. Please let me protect you and your beautiful daughter, and please let me love you for the rest of your life. I love you, Emily. I am truly in love with you. Emily, please make me happier than I've ever been in my life and marry me."
"I've gone through so much to get to where I am today. I've made so many mistakes and had so many ups and downs. I always believed that when the time was right, I'd find the woman that I've been looking for for my entire life. I knew it would take opening up ways in I wasn't used to….All it took was coming here and finding you," he added.
Now that the show has aired they can finally go public with
What did you think of Brad's choice?

Sounds familiar? It's because it's the second time he will be on the show as the Bachelor. Brad became infamous back in 2007 when he appeared on the show and during the final rose ceremony, he ditched both women - DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft.
"Brad, this time, pick somebody!" DWTS host Tom Bergeron joked to Womack, who was in the audience.
Womack is a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres show today and during the interview he will talk about why is won't go away and has decided to come back and attempt to find love again.
He blames the fact that he didn't pick anyone on his commitment issues saying, Let's says this as adamantly as I defended myself it really tough to have 13/14 million Americans call you a jerk. So I spent a year or two maybe three defending myself adamantly. To answer your question, yes, I definitely have or had commitment issues. More importantly that process is difficult. I thought that I was as open as I was supposed to be and clearly I wasn't. I walked away and wound up all alone and left two girls standing there.'
And later in the show he attempts to convince us that he's doing to do the show because he does believe he can find love and not because it was his only chance to be on television again.
"I'll tell you why I'm here again because I believe it can work. I don't care if people call me an idiot or don't believe those words coming out of my mouth. I truly believe that it can work. So here are 25-30 women that I never ever would meet in regular life, and I'm clearly doing something wrong. I'm still single. So why I not, I really do believe that this can work."
People still buy this crap? It's just entertainment!

Brad appeared on the show back in 2007 and infamously jilting both DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft. But apparently he still has a little douchiness left in him and wants another go at the show.
"Brad is very sincere and believes in the show," a source close to the series tells the new Us Weekly. "That's why he didn't pick someone last time. He was never in it for the publicity. He wants to find a wife."
Wants to find a wife or wants another round of 15 minutes of fame? Why pick Brad when there are a million other eligible bachelors in the world? Have we officially run out of decent eligible men?! Are you excited about Brad coming back? Will you tune in to watch him again?
