Winners Announced for the First Ever 'Big Daddy Awards'

Hollywood dads have been honored for their work in television, movies, music, and sports. But this weekend, for the first time ever, they were awarded simply for being awesome dads.

2012 marks the first year ever of the “Big Daddy Awards.” Familiar names like Johnny Depp, Mark Wahlberg, Will Smith and Bruce Willis were all given nods for their contributions via Y-chromosomes.

By far the top winner of the night was superstar dad Brad Pitt, who received four awards for “Current Movie Dad Big Daddy,” “Do-Gooder Big Daddy,” an inaugural induction into the “Movie Dad Hall of Fame,” as well as the newly cherished category of “Biggest Big Daddy of Them All.”

Fans voted for their favorite celeb dads through Father’s Day in order to honor fathers, as well as raise awareness and funds to battle prostate cancer. Proceeds were donated to research and awareness.

Michael Burg created the “Big Daddy Awards” with the help of the On The Line Foundation. His previous work includes the creating and serving as Co-Executive Producer of Fox’s Teen Choice Awards.

Other winners include: Ozzy Osbourne for “All Time Reality TV Dad Big Daddy,” Eminem for “Hip Hop Big Daddy,” Robin Williams for “Funny Man Big Daddy,” Jeff Gordon for “Racing Big Daddy,” Bill Gates for “Business Mogul Big Daddy,” George Stephanopoulos for “Morning TV Show Big Daddy,” and Jimmy Kimmel for “Late Night TV Host Big Daddy.”

A full list of the 33 categories, nominations and winners is available at bigdaddyawards.com.

Also honored were the classic, but never forgotten iconic dad roles like Bill Cosby as Dr. Cliff Huxtable, Andy Griffith as Sheriff Andy Taylor, Bob Saget as Danny Tanner, and Chevy Chases as Clark Griswald.

Keep your eyes peeled for these awards next year. It’s a fun event for a great cause.
