Stars Pay Tribute to Bernie Mac

August 11, 2008

As you already heard, comedian Bernie Mac passed away on Saturday at the age of 50 from complications due to pneumonia. Actors and comedians alike are all paying tribute to Bernie, remembering the man behind the smile.

George Clooney, who starred with Bernie in the Ocean's series, said: "The world just got a little less funny. He will be missed dearly."

Brad Pitt said, "I lament the loss of a ferociously funny and hardcore family man. My thoughts are with [wife] Rhonda and their family. Bernie Mac, you are already missed."

Luke Wilson, who co-starred with Bernie in Charlie's Angels told People magazine: "He couldn't have been a nicer guy. He just seemed like a real family man and just a nice guy on the set. Just very kind of normal guy."

Samuel L. Jackson, who appeared with Bernie in Soul Men earlier this year said he was "one of the pre-eminent comedians of our generation", adding: "He was also an attentive husband, a great father and loving grandfather. I feel blessed to have shared years of friendship with Bernie Mac, and I'm honoured to have finally co-starred with him in what I consider to be his finest cinematic acting achievement."

Father GOD, the Bible says as we are born, yet we shall surely die, I know you decided it was time for Bernie to come on up, his death makes me think of the 5 heartbeats song -I feel like going on, although he will be surly missed, I know in my spirit he suffers no more from any affliction that he had to endure, my condolences go out to his family and friends and especially Steve Harvey, despite whatever they were going through, I know Steve cared for him deepely, Bernie I know you will hear this, you left behind a legacy of humor for the world to laugh at and with you, May Our Lord & Savior walk you to the gates of Heaven and advocate for you to advance into the Kingdom, I hope to reach the pearly gates and finally meet you and thank you for years of laughter, please tell Sammy & Red & Richard I said hello I am sure they are glad to have you by there side, for they all had faults in the flesh, but also possesed blessed and annointed talents, GOD bless your soul and your family, I love you Bernie, Sincerly Myles J. Lessner..long live the Original Kangs of Comedy, that's right the Kangs not the Kings...

I send my condolences to the family. Bernie Mac was an immaculate comedian. An outstanding husband and father as well as a grandfather. He was my favorite comedian. I looked at him as on of the best no, the best, in the business. Career and Personality wise, he was my role model. R.I.P Mac! shorti bop*

Bernie Mac will be greatly missed. He was one of the best comedians in the business. As a fan of his for many years, from stand-up to all of his great movies and of course the Bernie Mac show (one of my favorite TV shows of all time), I would like to express my deepest sympathy and support to his family. HE WAS THE BEST!!!!!!
