Celebrity Homes

July 30, 2007

Being a celebrity certainly has it perks! When your rich and famous you can afford to spend some serious money on a house. Check out a few of your favorite celebs lavish homes...

Madonna:
Wiltshire, England

In 2001, the Material Girl went through yet another transformation, this time to lady of the English manor. She and her husband, Guy Ritchie, bought a 1,200-acre estate that once belonged to late photographer Cecil Beaton. Madge learned how to fish, hunt and ride horses. The couple also owns a mansion in London.

Cher:
Malibu, Calif.

Cher owns one of the most amazing homes in Malibu. This Italian style mansion in Malibu, California features seven bedrooms and sits directly on the Pacific Coast Highway with views of the ocean and mountains. Back in 2004 Britney Spears considered purchasing the home from Cher for a reported $10 million dollars but later changed her mind.

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt:
Beverly Hills, Calif.

Before Hollywood's former Golden Couple filed for divorce back in 2005, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt bought this Wallace Neff-designed estate in 2001, putting a pile of money into renovations. After they split, it was put on the market for $28 million, then reduced to just under $25 million. The house boasts 10,000 square feet of space, black hardwood floors in the living room, a professional 35 mm projection room, a tennis court and an outdoor fireplace near the pool and spa.

Sandra Bullock:
Tybee Island, Ga.

Prices have gone up since Sandra Bullock put Tybee Island on the map. In 2001 the actress spent more than $1 million to buy a modest three-story home on the north end of the island, plus empty lots on either side to protect her privacy. She also reportedly owns homes in Southern California; Jackson Hole, Wyo.; and Austin, Texas.

George Clooney:
Lake Como, Italy

Journalists and tourists have on many occasions swarmed to the small Italian town of Laglio after endless rumors of celebrity weddings at George Clooney’s lakeside estate. Clooney bought the 25-room villa, known as Villa Oleandra, in 2001. It’s said to have an outdoor theater, a large swimming pool and a garage for Clooney’s motorcycles.

Apparently Bass's place is on the market, because he is now moving to NY to do the play Hairspray. I think it's about time that boy got some dame work.

It's a good thing Madonna's on the Global Warming bandwagon. I wonder how much jet fuel she's spent going from one home to the other?

I like Madonna's place the best, but then I'm a big time Anglophile too.
