Brad Pitt won’t be joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes, but he does have a new project to talk about! Brad is reportedly going to play a superhero in his next film!
Brad appeared on the Today show this morning, and Ann Curry pressed him about the possibility of making a kids’ movie. And to Ann’s surprise, Brad announced that he’s doing just that!
He told her that his next project is providing the voice of a superhero in an animated movie. The film, entitled Oobermind, will also feature the voices of Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, and Jonah Hill.
It’s by the same director who brought us Madagascar—Tim McGrath. According to Variety, Ferrell replaced Robert Downey Jr. in the title role of a supervillain who imagines all his dastardly dreams coming true after defeating good-guy rival Metro Man (Pitt), only to find life quite boring without an adversary. To fill the void, Oobermind creates a new superhero, Titan (Hill), who also wants to be bad, forcing Oobermind to switch sides.
Brad says it’s about time he did a movie that his kids would be able to see with him. He said, "It's just something they'll enjoy. And that's cool."
Very cool, indeed! Let’s hope he’s not bringing the kids to see Inglourious Basterds!
The film is slated for release in December 2010.
