Brad Pitt Pays $1 Million For Painting

Proving that he’s recession-proof, Brad Pitt spent some major dough on a piece of art over the weekend. He traveled o Switzerland for the Art Basel international show for modern and contemporary works.

During the VIP preview of the event, Brad spent $956,000 on a Neo Rauch oil painting.

According to Bloomberg, the piece, entitled Etappe, is a 9-foot wide painting done in 1998, featuring a racecar driver.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Brad eyed the artwork for several minutes before committing to buying it.

This isn’t the first time Brad has splurged at Art Basel. Last year, Brad bought $500,000 worth of furniture for his family’s home.

We guess when you have money like Brad does, it doesn’t hurt to drop almost a million on artwork! At least he’s giving back to the community and boosting the economy!
