Everyone in the world has one thing on their mind: Will Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ever get married? Ok, maybe like 5 people are wondering that thought right now, but Brad and Angies kids wonder when and if their parents will ever get married.
"They have asked, yeah, because they see movies that have the people getting married in the movies...you know, the happily ever after. Shrek and Fiona are married," admits Jolie while referencing the movie "Shrek."
Brad and Angie need to stop showing their kids "happily ever after" movies. Put on "Fight Club" and be like "this is daddy in a sad movie, life's tough kids. Also mom and dad are super bohemian and aren't getting married. Screw the system." Or something like that...also, I should never be a parent.
Angie dodges the marriage questions in a new interview with Christiane Amanpour for "Nightline." When her kids ask about marriage she tells them that she and Pitt are as committed as any married couple.
"We've explained to them that our commitment, we decided to start a family, was the greatest commitment you could possibly have," she says, "Once you have six children, you're committed."
I guess. Unless you're of the "John and Kate Plus 8" variety of parenting and in that case, 6 kids or more will drive you so far apart you wont even remember how to spell committed. "It's spelled T-L-C, right" says Kate Gosselin, probably.
When the kids asked recently why mommy and daddy weren't getting married, Angelina already had a joke lined up, "I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have a big cake."
Duh, that and the open bar.
Only time will tell if Brad and Angelina will ever get married, in the meantime, they are doing just fine with their gaggle of children. Jolie says she prefers to homeschool them so that they get a very well-rounded view of history.
“I’m being very careful with their schooling. We’re home-schooling especially when it comes to history, to make sure it’s not one country’s point-of-view of their country,” says the star.
She also says the key to her successful relationship with Brad is that they agree morally on all the same things, their relationship goes further than they were both in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."
"Your ethics are the same, the way you approach the world is the same," says Jolie on what makes a good relationship, "Not just your love of art, but your sense of what is right and wrong and your sense of the commitment your kids need from you, or your commitment to the rest of the world,”
