Blake Lively’s father Ernie has been badly injured in a car crash in Los Angeles. Blake had to quickly jump on a flight to LA after hearing the news, rushing to the hospital to be with him.
A source tells Star, “It was pretty bad. He’s lucky to be alive. “They are as close as any father and daughter could be — she was beside herself when she got this horrible news. Her dad taught her everything.”
Ernie Lively is currently being treated at an LA hospital for a broken back, arm, and nose. Our thoughts are with the Lively family.
Update: Blake Lively’s mother Elaine has issued a statement to Us magazine about her husband’s condition after a crash put him in the hospital.
She says, "
He's going to make a full recovery, thankfully. It was a horrific accident. He was on his way to the set of Criminal Minds, and he swerved to miss a car, and his car tumbled down an embankment. Blake is here, the whole family is here, and yesterday it didn't look good. But thankfully, now we have been told he is going to make a full recovery. It's all been taken care of."
Ernie, "suffered back injuries, and also his lungs," Elaine says. "But it if far less serious than we thought yesterday. We do not know when he will be out of hospital. We are just happy he is going to be OK."
