Billy Ray Cyrus Wishes \'Hannah Montana\' Never Happened
Miley Cyrus’ dad, Billy Ray, did an interview with GQ Magazine and I must admit he won me over.

In the mag, he talks about how contrary to gossip reports, he’s never made a dollar from his daughter, how he didn’t attend her birthday party because he was against her having it at a bar and how he wishes Hannah Montana never happened. Basically, he’s against all the things his wife stands for.

It’s actually really sad because you can feel the pain in his quotes. Either that or I’m a really big sucker and he just has a great publicist.

Read the quotes and you be the judge:

On how he’s never made a dollar from his daughter:
“I'm proud to say to this day I've never made one commissioned dollar, or dime, off of my daughter.”

On why he chose not to attend her 18th birthday party:
“Because they were having it in a bar. It was wrong. It was for 21 year olds and up. Once again all them people, they all wanted me to fly out so that then when all the bad press came they could say, ‘Daddy endorsed this stuff.…’ If I would have went out there I would have been right in the middle of all this stuff that’s going on right now with the bong.”

On how he wishes Hannah Montana had never happened:
Hannah Montana destroyed my family….. I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic.”
