Billy Ray Cyrus
HOLLYSCOOP EXCLUSIVE
February 12, 2012

Hollyscoop caught up with Billy Ray Cyrus at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards show, and he told us how his daughter, Miley Cyrus is reacting to Houston's passing:
"She's so sad about the loss of Whitney Houston," Billy Ray told Hollyscoop.

Miley was walking to get on a helicopter with her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, when she stopped to pose for photos. She was bombarded by a crowd of people, then told them sorry, she had to go, and walked right through the crowd. And that's when some entitled fan yelled out ‘Assh-le!’
Not one to back down from a fight, Miley turned around and said, “What the f-ck?” But she didn’t stoop to their level. She simply muttered, “are you for real?” and kept going.

Then, from backstage, you heard "AHEM". And Billy Ray said, "Um, and oh yeah. Miley Cyrus is the most talented singer in the universe."
So it looks like Miley's doing a great job of straightening her dad up--a feat I can only imagine she achieved by threatening to have his aviator shades and necklaces taken away.
Because not too long ago, Billy Ray was blaming "that damn show" for ruining his family. He's now saying that during the time of the interview, he was "surrounded in darkness", and that's why he chose to blame the show.
I imagine Miley Cyrus runs a tighter household than Stalin did a country. In a month's time, she's called off her parents divorce, forced her father to shut his mouth, and redeemed herself by appearing on SNL. That's "pretty cool"!
Anytime a star gets media flack, all they have to do is schedule a quick SNL appearance, and everything will be fine. Don't be surprised if we see Chris Brown hosting soon.
As far as being a dad, Cyrus says he could've been better.
"I did kind of approach being a dad as a friend," he said. "I was a great playmate. I mean, for teaching [my children] how to camp and build fires and ride motorcycles and four-wheelers, and horses, and all those fun kind of things. I was really good at that."

Billy Ray Cyrus worked. Because ever since Miley initially forbid him from appearing on The View, then allowed him to go on (although she probably had a mic feed in his ear), things have been looking up for the Cyrus Family.
"Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been," Tish posted. "Much love to all of you guys! You're the BEST."
Tish Cyrus sounds nice. But is it just me or does she have freakishly gigantic eyes? She looks like a Kit-Cat clock. I’m pretty sure they’re used by the government to hypnotize people into being the next Manchurian Candidate. That’s how she got Billy Ray back.

"I've dropped the divorce," Billy said during an interview on The View scheduled to air on Friday. "I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they've ever been."
"I feel like I got my Miley back," he added. "I feel like we're the daddy and daughter we were before Hannah Montana."
Miley reportedly stopped speaking to her dad after he told GQ magazine that 'Hannah Montana' destroyed their family. He calls it destroyed, I call it paying the bills. That Encino mansion they all live in comes with a hefty mortgage and we all know his achy breaky heart can't afford it.
I bet Miley told her dad the only way she'll forgive him for the comments he made to GQ is if he calls off the divorce and he agreed. She totally wears the pants in the family.

"It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now," Billy Ray Cyrus tells People in an exclusive statement.
Calling his recent comments "explosive, and unintentionally so," Billy Ray says, "My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier."
Billy Ray got a lot of heat from Miley and Disney for claiming Hannah Montana destroyed his family. “Hannah Montana destroyed my family….. I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic," he told GQ.
I'm pretty sure headlines of your wife Tish having an affair did the job--not Hannah Montana. And who lets their teenage daughter travel the world alone or even worse, with her boyfriend?! Pointing the finger at a Disney show isn't going to resolve anything, if anything it paid the bills while you were getting your achy breaky heart broken. #justsayin

A source told PopEater: “Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down with Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen.”
I don’t know what’s sadder. That the only reason Billy Ray is relevant is because he cashed in on his daughter, or that the only reason he’s relevant is because of Achy Breaky Heart. Either way, it’s devastating.
The source told PopEater that Miley wanted to believe GQ tricked her dad into saying things, but when he agreed to be on The View, she knew better.
“Miley truly wanted to give her father the benefit of the doubt, goodness knows she’s said things she wishes she could take back. But after she found out about his media trip to New York, no more excuses could be made.”
Miley’s ability to control her Hollywood-hypnotized dad is pretty impressive. Now if only she could teach Lindsay how to harness this power.

In the letter, Lohan says he can relate to Cyrus.
Is Miley Cyrus...Next Lindsay Lohan?: Infographic
He writes: “Why I ask, is it so hard for our wives, children and even the public, to see that all we are trying to do, is to be there for our family and try to make things right? Isn't it clear that the answer is so easy but the people who don't matter, make it so hard?”
Maybe the people who don’t matter make it so hard because you write letters to other celebrity dads and then share them with the public. Maybe? Just a thought.
“While we can't change the world, our example just might touch a few, and maybe even the one(s) we seek to save,” Lohan concludes.
I like how Michael Lohan’s concept of “changing the world” doesn’t involve solving the conflict in Darfur, or finding a resolution for the whole Isreal/Palestine thing, but is basically just people not saying mean things about him.
And I wonder what Cyrus’ reaction will be when he logs onto his computer and realizes he’s “got one of them dang-old e-lec-tronic messages from Mean Girl’s Paw-Paw.”
Michael Lohan isn’t the only one drawing comparisons between himself and Cyrus.
A friend of Miley’s told Popeater, "She's furious that her own flesh and blood would make a private matter so public. Who does he think he is, Michael Lohan?"

“We saw it coming for a long time,” a Disney source tells THR.
“She wanted to mature herself, but it kind of backfired. Her future without Disney is TBD.”
In the article Billy claims he never made a dime off of Miley Cyrus, which is something the Disney source calls “ludicrous.”
I'm pretty sure rumors of his wife Tish messing around with Bret Michaels was the straw that broke the camels back, not Disney. Just saying...

In the mag, he talks about how contrary to gossip reports, he’s never made a dollar from his daughter, how he didn’t attend her birthday party because he was against her having it at a bar and how he wishes Hannah Montana never happened. Basically, he’s against all the things his wife stands for.
It’s actually really sad because you can feel the pain in his quotes. Either that or I’m a really big sucker and he just has a great publicist.
Read the quotes and you be the judge:
On how he’s never made a dollar from his daughter:
“I'm proud to say to this day I've never made one commissioned dollar, or dime, off of my daughter.”
On why he chose not to attend her 18th birthday party:
“Because they were having it in a bar. It was wrong. It was for 21 year olds and up. Once again all them people, they all wanted me to fly out so that then when all the bad press came they could say, ‘Daddy endorsed this stuff.…’ If I would have went out there I would have been right in the middle of all this stuff that’s going on right now with the bong.”
On how he wishes Hannah Montana had never happened:
“Hannah Montana destroyed my family….. I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic.”
