Why Beyonce and Jay Z Named Their Daughter Blue Ivy

Celebrities are known for having strange baby names, but Beyonce and Jay-Z just named their new baby girl Blue Ivy and with that name, I can’t help but think she’s going to grow up to become a super hero or an exotic plant.

However, this name is very close to Queen B and Jay-Z’s hearts.

“Blue” is a very significant word for Jay-Z, he has named three of his albums, “The Blueprint.” “The Blueprint” in 2001, “The Blueprint 2: The Gift and The Curse” in 2002, and “The Blueprint 3” in 2009.

As for “Ivy,” it’s what the Roman numeral for 4 – IV – sounds like when said aloud, and 4 is a very significant number for the couple.

Beyonce and Jay-Z were born on September 4 and December 4, respectively. They got married on April 4, 2008, Beyonce’s last album was titled “4” AND the couple have matching tattoos of IV on their wedding fingers.

Everyone has been tweeted congrats to the couple, but a member of the Carter-Knowles family has finally spoken out.

Beyonce’s sister Solange called baby Blue Ivy, “the most beautiful girl in the world.” Duh, I mean she is Beyonce’s spawn, but let’s hope Blue Ivy didn’t get ALL of daddy Jay-Z’s lips, I mean, those things are out of control.

It was actually Beyonce’s bestie, Gwyneth Paltrow, who confirmed the baby’s birth on Sunday. “Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already” tweeted Paltrow.

Later, when fans were confused if the baby’s name was Blue Ivy or Ivy Blue, Paltrow tweeted, “It’s Blue Ivy Carter.”

Oh man, I can’t wait for the play dates between Gwyneth’s kid Apple and Beyonce’s girl Blue. Maybe they can invite golden delicious and the pink ladies.
