Here’s why we LOVE Kelly Clarkson. She actually sang LIVE at the presidential inauguration and NOBODY CARED (we cared Kel, we cared). Well, now she’s finally talking about the Beyonce lip-sync scandal and dare we say it, she’s being a little passive aggressive.
You tell us if you can sense Kelly’s semi-shade diss at Beyonce.
“I feel bad for her. Take it from a girl who’s actually stood there and done it. It’s the most nerve-racking situation. And it was cold, y’all. It was so cold,” Kelly told K-Frog radio.
Yeah, it was cold but Kelly still sang. Also, we’re dying over that line, “take it from a girl who actually stood there and done it,” and by "done it" she means “sing live.”
She continues: “That event isn’t about me or James Taylor or Beyonce. That event is about Obama and Biden and our history and our country. I get the fact that she was like, ‘this isn’t about me, so I don’t want to mess up. I don’t want to ruin this moment.’ Don’t think I didn’t think about, ‘Oh shoot, I shoulda totally lip-synced this.’”
Love that last line, “Oh shoot, I shoulda totally lip-synced this,” oh the irony, because she didn’t lip-sync and it was great! She’s basically like, “I didn’t know we could lip-sync? Why did you make me do that ish live?!”
Also, claiming that Beyonce might “mess up,” girl, you don’t insult the Queen B!
Overall Kelly is just glad it’s in the past, “I’m so glad it’s over. I was so nervous.”
