While the rest of the pop music world has their eyes locked in on the humdrum competition made up of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and Miley Cyrus, there’s another pop diva—some say another species entirely—patiently waiting in the wings, waiting for the dust to settle.
In those proverbial wings there’s a very literal throne, and on that throne there is Beyoncé.
Amid endless reports of a delayed album release, we’re finally hearing some insider scoop on when to expect new music from her. Here, take this pen: It’s December third, so MARK YOUR CALENDARS.
“Many in the music industry have gotten intel that Beyoncé will put out a single in the fourth quarter,” a source told Confidenti@l, “some time from late November to early December. It’s an official single and it’s timed perfectly to push out all the others. It will be out before the end of the year.”
Apparently, Beyoncé’s being strategic, waiting until all the hype dims on the rest of pop’s leading ladies’ projects before unleashing everything she’s been keeping from us this past year.
As for the song, they’re calling it a “massive” one (fun fact: it was supposedly funded by Pepsi), of which a video has already been filmed. Terry Richardson directed it and it was shot on Coney Island in New York in August.
This industry gossip is corroborated by “a noticeable hole in Columbia Records’ (Bey’s label) Q4 release schedule,” the source continued, “and it’s going to be Beyoncé’s release.”
