Etta James To Beyonce: How Dare She Sing My Song

When Beyonce serenaded Barack and Michelle Obama for their first dance, we all assumed it was kosher for her to sing an Etta James song. Not so! Much to our surprise, Etta is pissed off in a major way at Beyonce for singing At Last, which is her biggest claim to fame.

At a concert of hers in Seattle a few nights ago, Etta unleashed her hidden anger to the crowd, saying:

"You know, YOUR President, the one with the big ears-he ain’t MY President–had that woman singing for him at his Inauguration. She’s going to get her ass whooped.”

“How dare Beyonce sing MY song that I been singing forever. Now I’m going to sing it for y’all….”

Can you say DIVA??!! Who knew she had it in her?! We don’t know what is more disturbing: the fact that she’s publicly dissing Beyonce weeks after the event happened, or what she thinks of Barack Obama! Elisabeth Hasselbeck wouldn’t even stoop that low!

It’s seems a little petty to us. At Last is a great song, and many artists over the years have covered it. We’re scared to find out what Etta thinks about Beyonce's performance in the film Cadillac Records!
