Bloggers be bloggin', and Rihanna be RiRi-in'. A British poll ranking "Britain's Most Influential Pop Star" this weekend put Rihanna on the top of the list towering over singers Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and Ciara who followed close behind.
Because Rihanna can't go a blunt without letting you know about it on social media, she posted her fleeting thoughts about this achievement on her Instagram page (naturally), and it had bloggers up in keyboards speculating (naturally).
Here's what she said: "I only know how to be number 1!! I could use a challenge… ‘How dat feel down there on ya knees, Huh?!’ #gunzindamuthaphuckinair #allmyn*ggazNavi #controlyourheauxz #heauxzBeAckinUp #yesimeantAckin #catchup #phuckyouandyourtimedifference #walkupindisb*tchlikeiownaheaux #fromtheleftsideofanisland #tuh.
Now, there's a lot going on in this #unhumblebrag. The epilepsy-inducing series of hashtags are all over the place but there was one section of the #Navy Captain's Morse Code that appears to be just a blanket-sized amount of shade. Upon further inspection by bloggers dealing with a slow news weekend, however, that shade was actually thrown directly at Beyoncé.
Asking how it feels to be "down there on ya knees" could've been a blatant reference to the track "Bow Down" by Bey who ranked second to Rihanna. More likely, though, Rihanna was just bragging up a storm, which doesn't register with most media, probably because she's a woman. Male artists make these sorts of general "I'm the best" statements all the time, but when a female voices the same remarks it's "uncharacteristic" or something and has to be diluted into a high school style feud.
Realistically though, RiRi was probably just high and browsing the Internet, saw the poll, and didn't think that much into it.
What do you think?
