Beyonce\'s Mom Tina Knowles: \'Blue Ivy Carter™\' is Doing Great

Tina Knowles is now a grandmother for the second time, and while the public hasn’t yet seen Blue Ivy Carter’s face, Knowles assures us that her granddaughter is “beautiful.”

“She’s doing great,” Tina told People. “She’s beautiful.”

Beyonce and Jay-Z recently trademarked Blue Ivy’s name. But it was less of an ego thing and more a protection thing. A couple of companies tried to trademark Blue Ivy Carter first, in order to use her tiny baby celebrity to peddle their products.

Anyway, Tina also says she’s having a blast being a grandma.

“It’s the second best job I’ve ever had,” she said. I’m guessing the first best is raising Beyonce. Unless she worked at Dave & Buster’s in college, too, because that’s a pretty sweet gig.

Meanwhile, Blue Ivy Carter has been raking in the goods, with stars like Oprah and Gwyneth Paltrow gifting her with some major swag. Baby swag, but swag nonetheless. Paltrow bought a fancy Bugaboo Chameleon stroller for the hip-hop offspring. The stroller retails for $1,029.

Oprah reportedly bought Blue Ivy a trunk of books. Very exciting stuff. Rumors surfaced a couple of weeks ago that Jay-Z and Beyonce asked Oprah to be the godmother of Blue Ivy Carter. But then Oprah’s BFF Gayle King denied it.

“Let me just say, if [that report is] true, it is news to [Oprah]," King said. "It is news to her. You know, she was heading to South Africa when the baby was born.”

But King did say: "She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much."
