I think this is the first time there's been policing on diva behavior.
Beyonce's stay at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC when she gave birth to Blue Ivy was surrounded by a series of claims. Rumors surfaced that she and husband Jay-Z closed off the entire maternity ward, their security was rude to patients, they had a private suite built, etc.
Well who knew the Health Department was such a big fan of celebrity gossip, because according to TMZ, they're launching an investigation. The probe actually started after the Department received numerous complaints from families who said they were being mistreated at the hospital as a result of Beyonce's VIP treatment.
For example, two families claim they were kept from seeing their newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit because Beyonce's security guards banned them from entering that area of the hospital.
You on the list? You got a pass? Didn’t think so, get outta here, groupies!
The patients specified that the guards were not hospital employees, but rather security men hired by Beyonce and Jay-Z while she was at the hospital giving birth.
Also according to the investigation, Jay-Z and Beyonce had the hospital cover security cameras with tape.
A spokesperson for the Health Department acknowledged the investigation to the New York Daily News, saying:
“We have received complaints,” and noted, “Whenever we receive a complaint, we look into it. It’s not necessarily an investigation. It could be a review. Most likely in this case, it would be an investigation."
