Beyonce Will Give Birth in February

Beyonce has finally announced something about her pregnancy that involves more than just belly rubbing.

The singer says she and Jay-Z will welcome their first child together in February. Mark your calendars, people.

"[Being pregnant] already has changed my life. My husband and I have been together for 10 years, all of my twenties," she said. "I just feel like it's time and I'm very grateful that God has blessed me with the biggest gift any human can have."

The couple married in 2008, and Beyonce says they made a very conscious decision to wait a few years before adding to their family.

"I think because I've accomplished a lot of things for myself and I really know who I am, I didn't rush into anything," she explained. "If there's any time, right now is the time, and I'm so happy."

You and half the world. We all went bananas when she announced her pregnancy on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards. It was such big news, we didn’t even bat an eye at Lady Gaga’s typical stunts.

Before she got pregnant, Beyonce sat down to take a long, hard look at her life.

“It was a bit overwhelming,” the singer said. “I was a bit numb and kind of lost.”

Beyonce has said in the past that she was working so much, she was just kind of going through the motions. Part of the realization she came to after re-evaluating her life had to do with letting her father go as her manager and taking a year to herself.

"I never even realized I needed a year off. I never realized I don't know how to take a year off," she added. "I've been managed by my father for a long time, and it's been a real change being separated from him. It was scary, but it empowered me."

She’s definitely come a long way since her days in Destiny’s Child. Beyonce says of the group’s decision to split: “It was nerve-racking for all of us. It’s just when you’re use to something it’s hard to grow up sometimes and we all said, ‘Well, it’s time. We’re women, it’s time, and we all want to do different things.’”

And speaking of Destiny’s Child, Hollyscoop talked to Kelly Rowland to get her reaction to Beyonce’s news:

“I’m ecstatic, it’s been so hard to hold it all so I’m just so happy that’s she’s finally showing everyone, it’s just so beautiful and I’m just so happy for my sister and her husband and just the fact that it’s just such a blessing.

Kelly also told us Beyonce and Jay-Z have made their first decision as parents:

“I think they’ve chosen a name,” Rowland told Hollyscoop.
