On this cold day in Washington D.C. Barack Obama was sworn in for his second presidential term.
While the crowds at this year’s inauguration weren’t nearly as huge as they were in 2009, the event still attracted its fair share of celebrities.
After all the bible-swearing and pomp and circumstance was over, Beyonce performed her rendition of the National Anthem and later Kelly Clarkson sang “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.”
Tomorrow, Lady Gaga will headline a private inaugural ball for White House staff, however the show has yet to be announced by Gaga or the White House, meaning, you have to know about it AKA whisper the password at the door – kind of thing. Alicia Keys is also reportedly performing at the event tomorrow.
Other famous and long time Obama loyalists seated in the crowd today include Eva Longoria (who is also the inaugural committee co-chair), Katy Perry, John Mayer, Marlon Wayans and of course Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z (who performed at the inaugural ball in 2009).
Over the weekend, Nick Cannon, Katy Perry, the cast of Glee and Usher performed at the Kids’ Inaugural Ball for Sasha and Malia.
