If you don’t like your job, you might want to consider becoming a celebrity nanny.
Hell, even if you DO like your job, you might want to consider this profession. Because professional nannies are reportedly paid anywhere between $50,000 to $150,000 a year. It almost makes putting up with a bunch of spitting up, pooping, and unruly kids worth it. And yes, that’s the hell I imagine when I think of what nannies have to do.
It’s no surprise that most celebrities have nannies, but these celebs often try to hide just how much their nannies are involved in their children’s lives. And keeping that quiet comes at a pretty price. Indeed, a celebrity nanny has quite the job description, and here are just a few celebrity nanny demands:
Jennifer Lopez: Life & Style reported that Jennifer Lopez was looking for a nanny back in 2010. “The person has to be graceful under pressure, have a thick skin, and be resourceful in foreign countries,” an insider said. "You have to change diapers, work on little sleep and cook if the butler is away.”
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie: According to HollywoodLife, Brad Pitt and Angelina have one nanny for each of their six kids. This means they probably spend upwards of half a million in childcare each year. And they want to have more?! The nanny must also be able to speak two languages. Uh, does English and Pig Latin count?
Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin: A friend of the couple’s revealed that Gwyneth and Chris placed an ad for a nanny. The requirements: must speak and be able to teach ancient Greek, Latin, French and Spanish; must be able to play two instruments; must be sporty. The salary offer was $98,000 for two to four hours of work each day.
Jay Z, Beyonce: According to In Touch Weekly, Beyonce and Jay-Z hired a total of six nannies for Blue Ivy Carter. A source says that the couple makes sure Blue Ivy’s “diaper is changed every hour,” and also has five nannies present all times.
