The VMA nominations have been announced, and
Beyonce and
Lady Gaga are both on top! The singing divas have each nabbed nine nominations each, including video of the year and best female video!
Beyonce told
People, "I'm excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs. I've been blessed this year to have Single Ladies become a video people really connected with and responded to. I've spent so much time watching all the great versions people created all around the world. It's beautiful to feel you touch people and bring a song to life with a video."
And right behind Beyonce and Gaga is Miss Britney Spears, who is nominated for seven of her own! As for the guys, Eminem and Kanye are going head-to head with one another, each receiving nominations in the same four categories.
Eminem's We Made You goes up against and Kanyes’s Love Lockdown for Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Hip Hop Video. And We Made You is up against Kanye's "Paranoid" for Best Special Effects.
