Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born to costume designer Tina Knowles and former salesman Mathew Knowles. Beyonce also has a younger sister Solange. From a young age, Beyonce won over thirty local singing and dancing competitions. She also attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, but later went to Alief Elsik High School. Beyonce rose to fame as lead singer of the world’s best-selling female group, Destiny’s Child.
In 2003, Knowles released her debut solo album Dangerously in Love. She also released her second album B’Day in 2006. She has also made a success in the film industry, starring in The Pink Panther, Austin Powers in Goldmember, and Dreamgirls. Overall, she is a singer, songwriter, record producer, music video director, actress, dancer, and fashion designer.
She is currently Crazy in Love with rapper Jay-Z.
