Beverly Hills 90210

We pretty much saw this one coming, but 90210 killed it in the ratings last night, and beat Gossip Girl, which aired on the CW just one night prior, by a landslide.

5 million people tuned in to watch the new series, whose ratings were 34% higher than GG. The CW is no doubt relying on the new 90210 to carry them through the season, so it's just a matter of whether people will continue to tune in to future episodes.

A lot of people tuned in for the premiere for pure curiosity and it didn't seem to deliver. We want to know. Will 90210 stay in your tivo, or get deleted?
Despite the rumors and the wishful thinking of fans, Luke Perry is not considering a role on the new 90210. He actually passed up an offer to appear alongside his old castmates Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty. We hoped he might have just been trying to be secretive after we heard he might return as the father of Jennie Garth's son, but his rep has denied it. Boo!!

She says, "This story is not true. Luke is not appearing on the show. Luke added, I can't re-imagine it currently. It's just not something that I've thought about to be quite honest, I don't see it happening."

We wonder why Luke is so opposed to appearing on the show. Believe it or not, it may just be a scheduling conflict. He actually has three movies in post-production right now! Go Dylan McKay!

With all this talk about the new 90210, Melrose Place is feeling a little jealous! But according to E!, the cast may be reuniting at this year's Emmy's.

The awards show is celebrating their 40th year, so the theme is to bring the casts of old TV shows back together. Genius!

They should reenact scenes too! No word on which other casts will be a part of the presentation, but what would be your picks? Emmy's air on September 21st.
Good luck trying to get any dirt on the brand new 2.0 version of 90210, because CW execs are making sure plot lines are being kept under wraps.

They're refusing to release any footage of the show prior to it airing on September 2nd.

The statement they sent out reads, "The CW and our partner CBS Paramount Network Television have made the strategic marketing decision not to screen 90210 for any media in advance of its premiere. "We're not hiding anything… simply keeping a lid on 90210 until 9.02, riding the curiosity and anticipation into premiere night, and letting all our constituents see it at the same time."

This could mean that they're worried about getting bad reviews before the show even airs, which would decrease the amount of viewers. They sure have a lot to live up to! As dedicated fans to the original 90210, we definitely have our doubts that the show will live up to its predecessor.
The new 90210 is almost here, and the CW has released a new promo to get us all hooked.

Although, they probably don't have to worry about getting viewers. Everyone is going to be tuning in on September 2nd to see if it's as good as they're claiming, or just a big trainwreck!

Check out the trailer, featuring Kelly and Brenda reuniting in the halls of West Beverly.

Tori Spelling won't be appearing in the 90210 remake after all. Tori was slated to play a boutique owner frequented by the characters in the show, but her rep now confirms that Tori has pulled out. Like most things in life, the decision to quit was based on money.

Tori was going to be receiving between $10K and $20K a episode, while Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth were going to be getting up to $50K an episode. Tori thought she deserved more.

Does she really need the money that bad? Tori should be taking any role that comes her way! Especially this show, which is going to be one of the biggest shows this Fall!

People are going a little overboard with the 90210 comeback. They assume that everyone from the old cast is going to make a cameo in the remake.

Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestley) has denied rumors that he will be returning to the 90210.

He says, "I think I sort of ran the gamut with Brandon – 249 episodes. I think Brandon did his time."

He adds, "They're talking to my people about seeing if they can slot me in over there. I directed more episodes of 90210 than anybody. I directed 18 episodes."

Two people that will be making a comeback on the remake are Jennie Garth and Shannon Doherty. Tori Spelling was supposed to be a part of the team, but pulled out last minute.

We guess Shannen Doherty threw her weight around to producers and they succumbed, because she's in and Tori Spelling is out! According to E!, sources say it's a go with Shannen for the remake, and now it's just a matter of how long she'll shoot. Apparently it all depends on the storyline. So basically, Shannen is trying to get as much face time as possible, and the producers may have to get the writers to do some re-writes!

As for Tori, she's pulled out of the show for personal reasons. She was originally supposed to do a few episodes, but that's been canned.

One thing the writers would like to see come to fruition is the reuniting of Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty on screen. The two didn't leave on good terms back in the day, but they were teens at the time, and producers are hoping the two can start fresh. How exciting!

There has been a lot of speculation about Shannen Doherty joining the cast of the 90210 remake, and now we're hearing that those rumors might actually be true.

EW reports that Doherty has been in serious talks to reprise her role as Brenda on the show, but wants to know what the story line will be before she commits to anything. But in true Shannen Doherty style, that's not the only factor.

She also wants more money than she was originally offered! We think she should just take the opportunity and run with it! We haven't heard so much buzz about her in years, and this would be a great re-boot of her career!
It was only a matter of time. Tori Spelling is officially joining the cast of the new 90210. She's even been written into the pilot. Go Donna!

Not only that, but now Ian Zeiring wants in on the action too. We almost have all the oldies back!
