Happy 90th Birthday Betty White

I can’t believe Betty White is 90 years old! If I ever meet her, I would love to ask her what the Mayflower was like! I kid, I kid.

“Old Jokes” was the theme of the night last night as NBC celebrated Betty White’s 90th birthday in a televised Gala special entitled “Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl.”

It was basically geriatric Golden Globes, that being said, it was one of the funniest nights on television I’d seen in a while.

Celebrity guests like Amy Poehler, Ellen Degeneres, Morgan Freeman, Tina Fey and Hugh Jackman sent Betty their well wishes while Betty’s colleagues over the years like Mary Tyler Moore, Ed Asner, and Carol Burnett roasted the old star while showing Betty’s standout video clips from her impressive career on shows like “The Golden Girls” “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “Hot in Cleveland” and all her various appearances on game shows.

SNL and Seth Meyers even created a special “Weekend Update: Betty White Edition.”

President Obama sent in a video message for Betty, where he wrote that he didn’t actually believe she was 90 and asked that she produce a long-form birth certificate. Lol #DonaldTrump

Amy Poehler kicked off the night with this joke, “Betty White is a true television pioneer. I call her a pioneer because 90 years ago she literally arrived to California on stage coach.”

“Chuck’s” Zachary Levi even proposed to Betty, ending his “bit” with an actual kiss on the lips from Ms. White and judging by the look on his face, I don’t think he was expecting it. Or he wasn't expecting her to slip him some tongue.

After the “roast” which was more of a “toast” peppered with some old-person jokes, Betty premiered her new show, “Off Their Rockers” which is a hidden camera prank show, all pranks performed by old people. I didn’t stay awake long enough to check it out, but I’m assuming the pranks involve removing the tennis balls from walkers.
