Ben Back On The Booze?

Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck had some people worried when he was spotted with some Guinness and white wine in Chicago during the premiere after party of his new movie Gone Baby Gone.

The restaurant's owner told Life & Style magazine, "Ben was drinking Guinness."

Later that night he moved his party to the Four Season's hotel bar where was spotted drinking wine. A person at the bar apparently say him drink 3 glasses of wine and said that, "He was very chatty. He was the last person to leave the lounge - his friend literally dragged him away."

The reason this worries people is because Affleck went to Promises rehab center in 2001 to seek treatment for an alcohol problem. I'm no expert on alcoholism so I can not comment but is he allowed to drinks 6 years after leaving rehab or is he never allowed to drink due to fear of relapse?

I am an expert and I wil tell you that one drink is to much and a hundred is never enough for people who have the "disease" of alcoholism. Whether it is one year, six years or twenty five, to havea "few drinks" is very very difficult and dangerous ground for me affleck. Sucess , failure, death in the family...whatever it is..nothing should EVER make him beleive he is safe to drink again. But thats the disease at work with im right now..thinking he can just have a few cause everythign is turning a corner...sad sad sad. He can lose it all in a heartbeat...good luck ben.

Yes, that is so true, Femme Fatale. It is a disease and it's a hard one to control. That is why he should not even temp him self w/ a "few drinks" because he is not going to be able to stop.

He needs to go back to rehab if he's drinking now. What a shame! All the glory and exultation from the success of this movie doesn't add up to a hill of beans if he's boozing it up now because if he keeps it up, he will lose everything he's worked so hard for to get to the point where he is right now. I will pray for him.

I agree with everyone who says you can't have even one drink. I stopped drinking at the age of 20, back 18 years ago, and I know I cannot have even one drink. None is the limit. You have to form a disgust and distaste for alcohol. You have to tell yourself anything and everything you can to stay off it... that it will make you feel sick, you'll age faster, you will get in trouble, you will be incoherent, it's expensive, you can screw everything up. I think you have to make it your own determination to stay off of it, and that you don't want it.
