So is it Ben Affleck actor turned director turned writer turned producer turned Senator, now?
Ben Affleck just testified at a House Armed Services Committee yesterday about security issues in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, an issue very close to his heart, and now after his fun Capitol Hill adventure, Democrats are reportedly eyeing him to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat.
Obama might replace Hillary Clinton with Sen. John Kerry as Secretary of State, meaning, John’s Senate seat is up for grabs. In walks Argo, I mean, that guy from Gigli, I mean Matt Damon’s life partner, I mean, Ben Affleck.
Boston CBS station said Massachusetts Democrats are seriously considering Ben for the seat and when Ben’s long-term rep was asked if the rumors were true, he didn’t deny it.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this rumor. Back in 2005, Ben was reportedly running for a seat in the Virginia Senate.
Ben isn’t the first famous face to enter politics.
Obviously Arnold Schwarzenegger was successful at turning a body building career into a political one.
Alec Baldwin was talking about running for NY mayor this time last year. Heck, Ben’s wife Jennifer Garner even endorsed Alec.
Donald Trump and Steven Colbert both toyed with the idea of running for President, but they were both so laughable untrue, it was nothing more than a PR stunt.
That being said, Trump took his candidacy as a Republican nominee for Prez real seriously. He even released a statement when he “dropped out” of the race.
Naturally, we were all heartbroken.
