Holy, Ben Affleck, this is happening: the Oscar-winning actor is going to play the next Batman.
Ben has been cast in the Man of Steel sequel starring Henry Cavill, directed by Zack Snyder, set for a summer 2015 release.
Zack made this statement on the news, that Warner Bros. released late yesterday afternoon:
"Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him."
At Comic-Con last month, Zack had fans speculating like crazy after he revealed that his Superman sequel would include the beloved D.C. character and be a comic book mashup.
This isn’t Ben’s first time taking on a superhero role. In 2003, he suited up to fight crime in Daredevil.
