VH1 has decided to bring back 10 episodes of their show Behind the Music. Remember? Back before the network aired only reality shows? We know it might be tough to recall a time prior to that.
The network has ordered 10 episodes, and Lil Wayne and Scott Weiland are just two of the artists signed on to participate. VH1 decided to bring it back after they aired a special on New Kids On The Block that did well in the ratings.
VH1 executive VP of original programming Jeff Olde says, "It felt like the time is right. There's all sorts of new artists on the scene who have emerged and have these great stories. And there's other artists that we always wanted to do the first time around."
"We always hear about the show, even now. It's amazing how much affection viewers have for it."
VH1 says they’ll be updating the format just slightly, but most of the show will stay the same. Jim Forbes will still be the narrator, but updated footage will be added to make the show look more current.
Olde says, "I'm leery about changing certain elements. I think the audience will be mad if we mess with it too much."
Good for VH1 for getting back to their roots! They seem to have spun out of control with the reality shows lately, so it’ll be nice to catch a show that’s actually about music on VH1!
