Last Barbara Walters hosted her final Oscar Special, making predictions about this year’s Academy Awards. She told the audience of The View, “To be honest, I feel like I’ve 'been there, done that’.’”
She’s certainly spoken with quite a lot of celebrities, and there are some interviews Barbara wishes she could do-over. Looking back on Barbara's long career, she's had the ability to make or break people in the public eye. And one interview she regrets is the infamous Ricky Martin one back in 2000.
She tells the Toronto Star, "In 2000, I pushed Ricky Martin very hard to admit if he was gay or not, and the way he refused to do it made everyone decide that he was," she says now.
"A lot of people say that destroyed his career, and when I think back on it now I feel it was an inappropriate question."
Ricky was certainly at the height of his career during that interview and sadly he fizzled out as quickly as he gained fame. Do you think Barbara was responsible for "destroying" his career? Check out the interview from 2000 below...
