I don’t think anyone could have guessed who Barbara Walters’ pick for the most fascinating person of 2010 is this year. On her special last night, Babs revealed it was General David Petraeu, a top commander in Afghanistan.
"In life, it seems, there are people who break things and people who fix them. This man is a fixer," she said on the ABC special. "A lot depends on General Petraeus and his combination of humanity and strength."
I’m just hoping the cast of Jersey Shore went right after him to realize just how pointless and non-fascinating they really are. The other person who was kept secret until now is Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook. Hollyscoop made predictions a couple of weeks ago with Zuckerberg in the running, and the choice totally makes sense.
He’s becoming a household name, especially with the movie The Social Network that came out a couple months ago. This guy is definitely fascinating, to say the least!
Just yesterday, he announced he was giving away half his fortune to charity. "People wait until late in their career to give back. But why wait when there is so much to be done?" he said in a statement.
"With a generation of younger folks who have thrived on the success of their companies, there is a big opportunity for many of us to give back earlier in our lifetime and see the impact of our philanthropic efforts."
Definitely deserving of praise if you ask me! What did you think of Babs’ top picks?
