The biggest party in country music premieres tonight June 6 at 8pm on CMT – The 2012 CMT Music Awards.
The show will be hosted by country star Toby Keith and actress Kristen Bell and will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. And because country music loves it’s fans so much, there will be performances from an outside stage, so fans who couldn’t get tickets to the show will still get to enjoy the music outside!
However, the tune-in moment is the special skit at the start of the show featuring President Barack Obama and Presidential hopeful, Republican candidate Mitt Romney. If we’re lucky, maybe they’ll lip sing to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.” Oh wait, the President has done that already.
“The President and Governor Romney each understand the reach of the CMT audience, particularly on our highest-rated night of the year,” says CMT President Brian Philips, “They’re each great sports, they’re ‘in on the joke,’ and they each went out of their way to deliver great moments for CMT. Tune in at the top of the show or you’ll miss them!”
The CMT Music Awards will include performances from Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Pistol Annies, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood, Hank Williams, Jr. and Zac Brown Band.
For a celeb packed country music show, tune in tonight at 8pm!
