Stars Respond to Emmy Nominations

The Emmy nominations are in, which means award show season is right around the corner!

There were some surprises this year and a few snubs, but as always, it's an honor just to be nominated for such a prestigious award. Hollyscoop caught up with some of this years nominees to get their initial reactions:

Chandra Wilson in regards to getting nominated: "We had already been to rehearsal and I had already seen the teleprompter and my name wasn’t on there, I asked ahead of time what to say about supporting actress to know what to say to you guys and they said no no no….I was in shock and my hands were shaking!"

Chandra Wilson in regards to announcing Emmys:
“To announce the nominations that was just a honor. It was cute I said ya I would do that for the academy."

Jim Parsons from The Big Bang Theory in regards to getting nominated: "This morning I started to feel a little ill when I got here. More than anything I was nervous of getting all the words right and being in this setting, I had no idea, I saw it on the teleprompter first it was so out of place. We rehearsed it three different times she (Chandra) and I and the same teleprompter and everything and the only thing that I was thrown off by was right before I went on they whispered to me, we left her off the list, you'll be saying her name. I was like oh god last minute changes on live TV at 5:30 in the morning, I was prepared for things to be weird but I didn’t know that it would be that weird."

Jim Parsons from The Big Bang Theory told Hollyscoop.com today in regards to announcing Emmys: “Being asked to present was really weird and wonderful because its nothing that you aim at doing so it really took me off my footing because obviously its not a career choice it seems like something else somebody does."

Alec Baldwin tells Hollyscoop: "I'm thrilled for everyone connected to the show, but I'm especially excited for Jane, Jack and Tracy. It's great working with the entire group and I'm grateful for the recognition of our work."

Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy) tells Hollyscoop: We’re thrilled to see Family Guy and American Dad recognized by the Academy. And the idea that Family Guy can transcend animation and be honored as one of the best comedies on television is truly rewarding. We have a great team of people that work incredibly hard on both shows. I’m really proud of them.

Jon Hamm: “I am absolutely thrilled to be recognized and included among such excellent company. I am also glad that both Elisabeth and John's tremendous work was nominated, as well as the work of our incredibly talented crew. Finally, I would like to thank Tina Fey for allowing me to be the caboose on the freight train that is ‘30 Rock.’”

Sally Field tells Hollyscoop: "As Brothers & Sisters enters it's 4th season, it still is and always will be a great honor to be nominated. The only hard part is finding a dress...and a date."

Sarah Silverman tells Hollyscoop: "I had no idea. When I woke up I saw I had all these voicemails on my phone and my heart sank. I was positive someone had died"

Mary-Louise Parker tells Hollyscoop: “I am thrilled to be nominated amongst this talented group of actors and especially happy for my friend Christina that she is being recognized for her great work. I feel proud to be a part of this show and to work with an incredible group of creative minds who take chances and are being acknowledged for this today.”

Christina Applegate tells Hollyscoop: “This year’s nomination means more to me than ever before. I’m incredibly happy and honored. Certainly it’s bittersweet- we no longer get to do the show that we love so much, but that doesn’t take away from the excitement and honor of this nomination. This is a wonderful recognition of what we created together every week.”

Rainn Wilson tells Hollyscoop: “I am supremely honored to be nominated for an Emmy for the third time. They say good things come in threes, like comets, omens and Jonas Brothers. God bless these United States of America."

Tracy Morgan (first time nominee) tells Hollyscoop: “It is an honor to be recognized by my peers and be a part of ‘30 Rock's’ 22 nominations. I want to thank everyone from Tina to Lorne to everyone in craft services.”

Mariska Hargitay tells Hollyscoop: "I'm hugely grateful to be nominated, and ridiculously honored to stand in the company of these incredible artists."

Neil Patrick Harris tells Hollyscoop: "I love being in the mix again this year, but am absolutely over the moon about HIMYM's Best Comedy Series nomination. The only multi-camera show in the mix! This kind of recognition is huge for us. Just huge. It should be quite the night. Being asked to host the show - terrific. Getting a third nomination - fantastic. Having the ability to scribble my name in the envelope backstage when no one is looking - priceless."

Glenn Close tells Hollyscoop: “I’m thrilled. I’m part of a phenomenal team and am so, so happy for all our nominees.”

Kristen Wiig tells Hollyscoop: “I am so crazy happy, I don’t even know what to say. To be included with all these other nominees is beyond an honor.”
