Oscar Countdown Begins
The preparations for the biggest night in showbiz have officially begun. Construction for Oscars platforms, bleachers, tents and statues are underway just in time for the 79th Annual Academy Awards. The show will take place Sunday February 25th at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood with its host Ellen DeGeneres.
Now if you are wondering what the days before the Oscars are like here is a sneak peak. Good luck trying to get through the city as Hollywood Blvd. is closed and all other roads are gridlocked, which makes us LA natives very grumpy. Getting dinner reservations this week is nearly impossible as all the hottest restaurants are booked and others are completely closed for private Oscar events. The fun part about all this is the city is full of stars. From the swag suites to the parties the who's who in Hollywood come out to play during this time of year.
If you're in town and want to do a little star sighting here is the scoop:
-- If you're in the mood for breakfast hit the Four Seasons Hotel
-- For dinner make reservations at the Polo Lounge, The Cut, Sunset Towers and Spagos.
-- If you want to do a little star sighting just hang out in the hotel lobby of the Chateau Marmont.
-- After dinner the best spots to hit are Bar Marmont, Teddy’s, Winston's and Hyde Lounge.
-- On the official Oscar night the hottest after party is the Vanity Fair Oscar party at Mortons which will be a who’s who event and stricly exclusive. This was the party that Paris Hilton was denied entrance to last year.
Hollyscoop will be hitting some of the swag houses, parties and hot spots to bring you the scoop behind what goes on during Oscar week. Make sure to check out our coverage of the 79th Annual Academy Awards here on Hollyscoop.
