No Actors At Golden Globes

January 05, 2008

Award Shows

The show must go on! The Golden Globes might continue even without the actors. A-Listers have made it no surprise that they will not attend the award show if the writers are still on strike and well it seems like the writers are still on strike.

In a statement, Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg said, "There appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross WGA picket lines to appear on the Golden Globe Awards as acceptors or presenters. We applaud our members for this remarkable show of solidarity for striking Writers Guild of America writers."

He was speaking on behalf of nominated actors which include Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Johnny Depp and many more.

What’s the point of having this award show if the actors are not going to be present? The only reason anyone really watches it is to see what gowns the actresses are going to wear. We don’t really care about what award they receive especially if they’re not even present to accept the award with a cool speech.
