59th Primetime Emmy Awards Winners

September 16, 2007

The 59th annual Primetime Emmys took place Sunday in Los Angeles and we are happy to say that one of our favorite shows “The Sopranos” took the top honor. It was great seeing the cast together on stage one last time. We're crossing our fingers that the next reunion will be on the big screen.

Other highlights included “Ugly Betty” star America Ferrera who took home the best actress in a comedy. The 23 year old faced tough competition as she went up against Felicity Huffman and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. When accepting her award America said winning was "a dream come true," and that she couldn't wait to go to work tomorrow.

Other wins included the critically acclaimed but low rated sitcom “30 Rock” which was created by SNL star Tina Fey. The show took home the best comedy series while Al Gore received a standing ovation as his Current TV channel was honored for achievement in interactive television

We were happy to see “Grey's Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl take home the best supporting actress in a dramatic series. When accepting her award Katherine said,"My own mother said I didn't have a shot in hell of winning tonight." Katherine went on to say, "so I don't have anything prepared."
