GLAAD Nominations Announced

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has just announced their nominees for the 17th Annual GLAAD Media Awards.

The show recognizes excellence in promoting diversity in media and entertainment. And this year’s recipients include Milk, Brideshead Revisited, Shelter, True Blood, Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty, Greek, Desperate Housewives, Torchwood, Skins, and Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.

ABC received the most nominations this year, for promoting diversity in its lineup. Tyra Banks will be receiving the Excellence In Media award for the diversity shown on both Top Model and on her talk show.

Lesbian finance expert Suze Orman will receive the Vito Russo Award, granted to a gay person in the media who has made significant contributions to promoting equal rights.
