Canadian singer and actress Avril Lavigne was born on September 27, 1984 in Belleville, Ontario. At the age of sixteen, Avril signed on with Arista Records and began working on her first album. Her debut album 'Let Go' was released in 2002 and was a huge success, selling over 16 million copies.
Over the years, Avril has produced several number one hits and has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards. Avril has made numerous appearances on the big screen, including roles in Fast Food Nation and The Flock.
Avril married fellow Canadian Deryck Whibley, lead singer for Sum 41, on July 15, 2006 in Montecito, California.
