Robert Downey Jr. has officially signed on for The Avengers, and Jon Favreau will be executive producing it. The plot, according to imdb.com, goes as follows: When Captain America is awakened from an icey prison, and some of the greatest evils earth has seen are born, the Avengers go into action. Captain America, Iron-Man, Hulk, Wasp, Ant-Man and Thor. Will they be able to stop the likes of Loki and the Masters of Evil?
Robert Downey will be playing Iron Man of course, and Don Cheadle has signed on to play Col. James Rhodes, previously played by Terrance Howard in the first Iron Man movie. That means Cheadle will be playing Terrance’s character in two movies! He must be so pissed the role was taken away from him!
President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige thinks it’s a great choice, saying, "We are very excited about working with the extraordinarily talented Don Cheadle as we expand the role of Rhodey in Iron Man 2. It has already become apparent as we prep the movie for production, that the dynamic between Robert and Don will take Iron Man 2 to new heights.”
