Avatar Breaks Box Office Record

2010 is James Cameron's year. Avatar made an additional $36 million dollars this weekend bringing its grand total to $552 million dollars!

Avatar is almost close to reaching the world record at the box office, which is currently at $601 million. The current record is held by James Cameron for 'Titanic'.

Paul Bettany's post-apocalypse thriller Legion took $18.2 million to secure second place, ahead of Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman's The Book of Eli.

The week's big disappointment was Harrison Ford drama Extraordinary Measures, which took just $7 million during its opening weekend.
