Ashton Kutcher might have saved Two and a Half Men after the crap storm Charlie Sheen caused, but will CBS bring him back? We still don't know for sure, but apparently, they're getting closer to inking a deal.
Insiders are saying that CBS has been busy negotiating with Ashton's camp. Kutcher is already rumored to be the highest paid star on a sitcom, raking in around $700,000 per episode. But Sheen was making a whopping $1.25 million an episode before he left, so it wouldn't be surprising if Ashton tried to up the deal to seven figures. I mean, wouldn't you? Something's gotta pay the electric bill on that massive trailer.
"I absolutely adore the time that I'm having. I'm having a great time on the show," Kutcher said earlier this month.
Two and a Half Men wasn't listed as one of the 18 shows that CBS picked up for next season, but that's just because Kutcher's deal wasn't done. But creator Chuck Lorre is pretty certain that the show will get renewed.
"It's unusual when they cancel a show that's in the Top 10," Lorre said. "I think there's hope."
He's also pretty certain that Ashton will make a return to the show.
"I don't see any reason to continue without him," Lorre says. "He's a delight, he's a really nice man and he's a really easy-going guy, he's very relaxed and very professional. He shows up and he's ready to work, he's prepared and he brings it."
So all signs are pointing to Ashton's return. Now the only question is, will he get naked again this season?
