More Two and a Half Men details! On Monday, word got out that Charlie Sheen's character on the show will indeed be killed off. In fact, the show is reportedly opening with his funeral. Gotta love Chuck Lorre.
Now, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler has revealed that Ashton Kutcher's character will be a broken hearted internet billionaire named Walden Schmidt. Odd, considering Ashton Kutcher still looks like he could be playing high school football. I guess we'll see how they pull that off.
Tassler said: "The great news is the show will be as irreverent as it's always been. There is great value in hiring an actor like Ashton Kutcher. He is extraordinarily professional, talented, gifted actor who comes with a tremendous amount of commitment and enthusiasm."
Emphasis on the word "professional", I'm sure. They might as well have said, There's great value in hiring Ashton Kutcher. He's not Charlie Sheen.
And as far as Sheen returning for a cameo, that mercury surfboard has sailed.
"Charlie has moved on to greener pastures. He's obviously got a lot of opportunity on his plate."
Ashton's character is supposed to be introduced after he buys Charlie's Malibu home. Somehow, Alan and Jake, played by Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones, respectively, will remain living in the house. Because that's not weird at all. 3 bed, 3 bath, Includes: w/d hookups, hardwood floors, and sad, lonely man with overweight son.
