Ashton Kutcher IS Steve Jobs. The actor looked exactly like a young Steve Jobs while filming “Jobs” up in the Silicon Valley on Tuesday. Just wait until he gets into a black turtleneck and some Levi jeans!
The biopic follows Steve‘s rise to success after dropping out of college to develop the Apple brand. What that means is, Ashton is playing Steve circa the ‘70s. Will Ashton channel his iconic Kelso on “That ‘70s Show?” – hopefully not?
The movie is being filmed at Steve’s actual childhood home in Los Altos, California. However, this flick is not to be confused with the other Steve Jobs biopic.
Aaron Sorkin is writing a big-budget Steve Jobs flick for Sony based off the official Walter Isaacson biography, “Steve Jobs.” This Ashton Kutcher film is a competing, independent film.
The paparazzi shots from the set also show actor Lukas Haas as Steve’s business partner Steve Wozniak and actor Dermot Mulroney playing some type of business man.
It’s uncanny how similar Ashton looks to the late Steve Jobs. Ashton wears a red polo shirt with shaggy hair and beard. Google “young Steve Jobs” - they look like the same person. This is pre-black turtleneck, mind you.
When Ashton was first cast in the flick, it seemed like a joke. Is Kelso really playing the Apple genius? However, the films producer Mark Hulme had a lot of faith in Ashton.
“Since our film covers the early years of Apple, when Jobs was in his 20's, we needed an actor who could carry not only the youthfulness of Jobs at the time, but also the psychological complexity,” said Hulme, “Because of that, and Ashton’s physical similarities to Jobs, he’s perfect for our film.”
