Ashley Olsen: I'm Surprised I Didn't End Up Like Britney

Ashley Olsen knows better than most what it’s like to grow up in the spotlight. She and her twin sister Mary-Kate Olsen have been in showbiz since they were babies, and that usually spells trouble as soon as teenage years hit.

Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and even her own twin sister have all found themselves in rehab at one point or another, as a result of years under the media microscope.

But somehow Ashley has managed to stay on the straight and narrow, and has never gotten herself into trouble. And even she is surprised about that!

Ashley tells Marie Claire, "I look at Britney, and I'm surprised I didn't end up like her.

She also says her childhood wasn’t all fun and games, but that it was constant work. “It was almost like I was in the army. School, work, homework, fly to New York, get in at two in the morning, do a morning show at 5am, then another one at seven, then a radio interview at 10."

Ashley must have done something right! And now she’s all grown up, and rather than focusing on TV and movies, is all about fashion.

She has a very successful line Elizabeth & James, and is one of the only former child stars who can honestly say they escaped going through that inevitable rough patch!
