Ashlee Simpson's Struggle With Eating Disorders

Ashlee Simpson has announced in an upcoming article for Shape Magazine that she once struggled with an eating disorder.

She's looking as tiny as ever now, but she's healthy now as opposed to her old habits.

Ash says she was at ballet school and was surrounded by girls who all had eating disorders and developed one herself. She says she was 5'2" and 70 pounds! Gross! We're glad she got over that stage!

I just think it's vogue to have HAD an ED. No one wants to admit they are still struggling with it, but everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon and pretend they've overcome one. I don't buy that Ashlee has made strides in that short of a time. Nope. www.breakingthemirror.com

I believe her.she was a very accomplished ballet dancer and alot of ballet dancers develop eating disorders because of the pressure to stay tiny & thin. I also would like to say to the people who joke about eating disorders- that it's not in any way a laughing matter. i'm a normal person living a normal live and i am currently in recovery for my eating disorder. I was hospitalized for two weeks at the end of 06 and am still struggling with it. alot of people thing ed are a joke and it's very frustrating when you have one because it's a life & death situation. and most people with eating disorder also have alot of other issues they have to deal with. It's extremely hard to fully recover and i don't ever expect to be 100% recovered, i'll always have to battle it but hopefully the battle gets easier the more time passes.
