After secretly dating for more than four years, Ashanti and Nelly have reportedly called it quits because he wasn't ready to settle down, reports the New York Daily News.
Just a few months ago when Ashanti was asked about their relationship she admitted that a wedding was "absolutely in the cards" for them, but it looks like Nelly had a different agenda.
The publication also alleges that Nelly has recently been spotted spending time with other women.
We certainly hope they get over this road bump because they seemed like such a great couple!

Something must have changed because Nelly was willing to talk to People about the fact that there's more than friendship going on between them.
"That's the thing between me and her, we just like having fun," he said at LAVO club in Vegas yesterday. When asked if things were getting serious, he said, "I think it's always serious, when you can hang with a person continuously...and have fun."
Nelly was there partying it up in celebration of his 34th birthday, but Ashanti was nowhere to be found. Even though she was in Japan, we imagine she and the birthday boy will have their own private party when she gets back to the US.

She says, "I need, like, 12 (kids)... I love kids. I definitely want to get married... I'm so family oriented. I want the big wedding, I want the long marriage, I want kids.
"(But) I've got to stack my cheese a little bit more... I want to be able to bring my kids into the world nice and comfortable."
All they need to do is sell off one of Nelly's blinged out bracelets and that should be enough to support at least three kids until their 18th birthdays.

The 2007 American Music Awards are currently underway in downtown Los Angeles at the new state of the art Nokia theater. Let's take a look at some of tonight’s red carpet beauties.
'Good Girl Gone Bad' Rihanna was on fire tonight with a black and silver revealing mini dress. Rihanna will be performing tonight with fellow favorite artist nominee Ne-Yo. Beyonce turned heads in a skintight gold satin dress. Beyonce is nominated for favorite female artist and will perform a song from her hit album 'Irreplaceable.'
R&B star Ashanti looked gorgeous in a yellow chiffon dress. Favorite pop female artist Avril Lavigne was a fashion disaster with a bronze satin strapless dress. Avril's shoes were all wrong for the dress and the pink hair needs to go.
Favorite female pop artist nominee Fergie played it safe with a black mini, while 'High School Musical' star Vanessa Hudgens looked absolutely fabulous in a gold sequined mini dress.
Favorite album nominee Carrie Underwood looked gorgeous as always in a white lace mini dress. Teen sensation Miley Cyrus aka: Hannah Montana looked super sexy in a red strapless mini dress and gold Christian Louboutin pumps.

Ashanti cancelled a concert over the weekend when she got word that a 17-year-old drunken driver killed her cousin. She was only 20 years old and on her way to Ashanti's hotel on Saturday before her concert when the car she was riding in was rear-ended.
“Snead was flung from the car as it rolled over and thrown into the path of another car in the opposite lane. The 17-year-old unlicensed driver had stolen his mother's car, said Johannesburg metro police spokesman Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar. He was also under the influence of liquor,”
The 17 year old was arrested for drunken driving. This is one of the reasons that teenagers under 18 should not drive. Regardless if they are drunk or not, they are just not mature enough to take the responsibility of driving seriously.
