Lennon's Killer Denied Parole For Fifth Time

Mark David Chapman, who is only famous for the murder of John Lennon, has been denied bail for the fifth time.

The New York State Division of Parole said in a statement that the 53-year-old's request for parole was denied "due to concern for the public safety and welfare."

The statement said, "Your conduct thus precipitated a horrendously tragic event which has impacted many individuals. Your discretionary release at this time would thus not be compatible with the welfare of society at large, and would tend to deprecate the seriousness of the instant offense, and undermine respect for the law."

He's serving a twenty-to-life term for the murder that occurred on December 8th, 1980. This is music to Yoko Ono's ears, as she said that so many people want him dead that if he was released, he would be in a lot of danger. Also, she doesn't want the guy that killed her husband seeing the light of day!
