Put a fork in Weiner, he’s done. Rumor has it that Anthony Weiner is planning on resigning today following his cyber wiener scandal.
NBC News reported that Weiner’s staff left his Washington office early Thursday, shutting off the lights and locking the door. According to Politico, Weiner was set to be stripped of his committee assignments in a Democratic caucus Thursday morning.
Looks like he finally took President Obama’s advice. Obama suggested he resigns, but Weiner waited until his pregnant wife Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to return from a week long business trip. Oh to be a fly on the wall at the Weiner residence.
"I love my wife very much," Weiner said last week. "We've been through a great deal together and will weather this."
But apparently the Democratic National Committee isn’t feeling the love. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairman of the DNC commented on the scandal saying: "The behavior he has exhibited is indefensible and Rep. Weiner's continued service in Congress is untenable."
So it’s official: Weiner’s pulling out.
