Anna Nicole Smith has requested that a second autopsy be performed on her son Daniel, 20, who passed away unexpectedly on September 10.
The Bahamian coroner that performed the autopsy earlier this week has authorized the former reality star to bring in a private pathologist for a second opinion.
"It's nothing unusual for families to want their own pathologist to confirm or look for something that may have been overlooked," head coroner Linda Virgill told the Associated Press.
The pathologist is scheduled to fly in to the Bahamas from the U.S. on Saturday and perform the autopsy on Sunday.
While Virgill has stated that the coroner's office believes it knows what caused Daniel's death, it is still awaiting results of a toxicology screening, which is expected be completed any day now. We'll keep you updated as soon as we find out ourselves.
