Princess Diana Inspired Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie, who is infamous for her charity work, credits Princess Diana for inspiring her.

Jolie, who became involved in human rights activism after filming “Beyond Borders” in Cambodia in 2001, hopes to mirror the Princess' efforts when it comes to her charity work.

Jolie said, "Diana inspired me immensely. I followed the work she undertook very closely, especially the issue of landmines.

"It was fascinating that she chose that cause. No matter what I do, I always want to go to refugee camps and meet with the most unfortunate. I have found it a privilege - a way of making me feel alive."

stick to the issue people. all this article was about the issue of diana INSPIRING jolie. why all the sudden personal attacks on jolie/brangelina/races? it's not like jolie made a statement like " i AM the next diana, hail to me". society today is so stereotypical especially when come to criticizing others. give them HUMANS a break people.

But what you don't seem to understand is that ANGELINA IS OF MIXED RACE herself, she doesn't discuss often, perhaps because she wanted to make sure she made it in Hollywood first and would not be pigeon-holed. She is offspring of her mother who was African-French-Iroqui-Indian heritage. Angelina looks as mixed or as exotic as many of the hispanic or light skin exotic actresses. I have a niece who is mixed half black, she looks similar to Angelina. She is as light as Angelina with full lips, Angelina is a mixture of races, she is not all white, so people need to get off of her back. She is mixed race herself.

Actually, they're kind of alike, aren't they? Doing charity work..publizicing causes...bt that's where the similarity ends. In Princess Di I sense sincerity, genuineness & empathy for the causes she espouses, in stark contrasts to Jolie's more calculative vibe. And -yes- it is a BIG insult for Princess Diana- remember, she's also the victim of a third-party relationship. Angelina is doing more charity work than you or I will ever do. She also gives away 1/3 of her income to the charities. And get over the black/white issue. White people will never have "The White Awards", never be able to say "White Power", or ever be proud of their race because then they'll be labeled racist. I dare any journalists to mention the race issue in this film. It seems like it's a big hush hush subject. I've only ever seen black journalists wrote something about it. Well black people can effect the box office. Movie tickets aren't expensive and there're a lot of us in America. We can voice our opinions through not buying the tickets. Power to the people I say.

If she gets nominated for the oscar for playing Pearl, I'll make a lot of noise about it. The academy has done well with homosexuality (brokeback) and race (crash), don't move backward with this one. I hope others understand why it's so important to make changes to black representation in hollywood. Part of the reason it has tanked is because a lot of black people don't aggree with this.

If she did get nominated for the oscar (which I doubt), a lot of black journalists will have a problem with hollywood (and the academy in particular). I think you can only do so much damage control on something. I think she will have a better chance with atlas shrugged for the oscar. A GREAT LESSON FOR BIG STUDIOS, do not please do not tan the lead again. It makes people think we have gone back in time instead of moving forward!

Angelina is in hiding at the moment. Do you notice how suddenly we stop hearing about offers for her next film since the weekend? We've stopped hearing about the mighty heart (obviously paramount's vantage has asked here to stop promoting it because she's doing more damage to it than good, i think the race issues with the dumb casting will cost her the oscar) She has disappeared because she's been told she's too big for any films. And if she wants to stay on top in Hollywood she needs to be more private about everything. I pray she'll leave us alone for at least a year or so. I don't even want to know about her when Brad's films come out this summer or at christmas. Keep your head low and when you appear again, avoid interviews please. You aren't so great at them.

I agree with Bigbrother. They need to stop showing up at each others premieres. It's overkill when they're together. Everyone is so excited to see them out together that the media seems to forget about the rest of the cast (i.e. mighty heart, oceans). But then again, when they don't show up together there is always chatter that they're breaking up - so I guess they can't win. I'm just tired of seeing them and hearing about them. They do need to disappear for awhile. Unfortunately with all the movies Angie is working on, they will be forced down our throats for atleast the next 2 years! She cracks me up when she talks shit about leaving hollywood ..... go already!

I feel Jolie should not be turning up at the premiere of any of Brad's films. Don't show your face together when you want to appear serious.
