Jon Voight Reconnects With Angelina

Jon Voight has finally gotten his wish of reconnecting with his daughter Angelina Jolie. He tells Us Weekly that after seven years of not speaking, the father and daughter are now on speaking terms again.

Angie cut off communication with her dad in 2001 after he appeared on Access Hollywood begging her to get help for her “serious mental problems.”

But according to Jon, they’ve been talking since February. "We're in touch, but not regularly," Voight says. "We love each other and that's the most important thing."

A friend of the family says they’ve even talked face-to-face, and that Angie has her man to thank for that. "Angie made the initial contact," says the pal. "Brad has been supportive - a key factor in her reaching out."

It’s been years since Jon made that statement, which we’re sure he regrets doing now. And it’s nice to see they’ve reconciled for the children’s sake. Hopefully Angelina is trying to help them to have a relationship with their grandfather.
